As the name suggests, this helpful herb is a remedy for the eyes. However, traditionally Eyebright has also been used for stubbornly stuffed up noses, Hayfever or sinusitis. Additionally, it can help relieve runny, sore, and itchy eyes due to colds or allergies. No need to rub your eyes raw with Eyebright on hand.
Each ml contains 200 mg of organically grown eyebright aerial parts (Euphrasia officinalis). It is a 1:5 aerial parts extract in a non-medicinal base of 40% gluten-free grain alcohol and purified water.
Eyebright is used traditionally in Herbal Medicine to help relieve inflammations of the eyes and nose, including conjunctivitis, allergies and sinusitis.
For best results, take eyebright on an empty stomach, which means about 15 minutes before a meal or snack, or at least 1 hour after.
Adults 18 and over: take 2 ml, 3 times per day.
For best absorption, squirt the tincture under your tongue and hold it there for a few seconds, then swallow. If you want to remove the alcohol, add the dosage to a half cup of freshly boiled water. The alcohol will evaporate off. Let it cool, and add honey or a splash of juice to make a yummy, symptom-soothing drink!
Caution: Do not use eyebright if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. This herbal tincture is to be taken by mouth only. Please do not try to use it in your eyes or nose. And always talk to your healthcare practitioner if your symptoms hang on or get worse!
