Feeling stressed? Feeling in need of rejuvenation? Feeling old and creaky? Feeling in need of a tonic? Then Holy Basil may be that magically ‘holy’ herb that will help you put a spring back in your step and a tune in your whistle. Holy Basil has been used in Indian traditional medicine for years to help with arthritis, provide a tonic for the heart, reduce one’s reaction to stress and relieve coughs and colds.
Ingredients: Each ml contains 250 mg of organically grown holy basil leaves (Ocimum sanctum) in a non-medicinal base of 40% grain alcohol and purified water.
Recommended Use: Holy Basil is used as a heart tonic and treatment for coughs and colds.
Directions: For best results, take holy basil extract on an empty stomach, which means about 15 minutes before a meal or snack, or at least 1 hour after.
Adults 18 and over: take 3 ml, 3 times per day.
For best absorption, squirt the tincture under your tongue and hold it there for a few seconds, then swallow. If you want to remove the alcohol, add the dosage to a half cup of freshly boiled water. The alcohol will evaporate off. Let it cool, and add honey or a splash of juice to make a yummy, rejuvenating drink!
Caution: Do not use Holy Basil if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Please talk to your healthcare practitioner before using this herb if you are taking antidiabetic medications or painkillers, such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) or acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin), or if you have diabetes. And always talk to your healthcare practitioner if your symptoms hang on or get worse!
