Hops are famous for their sedative powers and their ability to help those suffering from insomnia. Their bitter taste aids digestion and calms an overly excitable digestive tract and nervous system. A truly Zen herb.
Ingredients: Each ml contains 250 mg of organically grown hops strobiles (Humulus lupulus). It is a 1:4 strobile extract in a non-medicinal base of 40% gluten-free grain alcohol and purified water.
Recommended Use: Hops is used traditionally in Herbal Medicine to help relieve nervousness and promote sleep.
Directions: For best results, take hops on an empty stomach, which means about 15 minutes before a meal or snack, or at least 1 hour after.
Ages 12 and over: as a sleep aid, take 2 ml at bedtime on an empty stomach. To help relieve nervousness, take 2 ml, 2 times per day on an empty stomach.
To help relieve nervousness you can take 2 ml, 2 times daily during the day. For best absorption, squirt the tincture under your tongue and hold it there for a few seconds, then swallow. If you want to remove the alcohol, add the dosage to a half cup of freshly boiled water. The alcohol will evaporate off. Let it cool, and add honey or a splash of juice to make a yummy, calming or sleep-inducing drink!

It is not a good idea to take hops at the same time as alcohol or other medications or natural health products with sedative. Hops can certainly cause drowsiness.
