If someone in your household has a cough, bronchitis or stomach complaints such as gastritis then licorice is a familiar, time-tested traditional remedy well worth having on hand. It’s even safe for small children age 4 and up and its delicious taste makes it a very popular remedy. Liquid candy? Well, not quite, but still worth enjoying.
Ingredients: Each ml contains 200 mg of organically grown licorice root and stolons (Glycyrrhiza glabra). It is a 1:5 root and stolon extract in a non-medicinal base of 40% gluten-free grain alcohol and purified water.
Recommended Use: Licorice is sed in Herbal Medicine to help relieve inflammatory conditions of the digestive system.
Directions: For best results, take licorice extract on an empty stomach, which means about 15 minutes before a meal or snack, or at least 1 hour after.
Children aged 4-9: take 3 ml, 1 time per day.
Children aged 10-14: take 3 ml, 2 times per day.
Ages 15 and over: take 3 ml, 3 times per day.
For best absorption, squirt the tincture under your tongue and hold it there for a few seconds, then swallow. If you want to remove the alcohol, add the dosage to a half cup of freshly boiled water. The alcohol will evaporate off. Let it cool, and add honey or a splash of juice to make a yummy, soothing drink!
