Di-Gest is a capsulated formula of digestive enzymes and HCL (hydrochloric acid) that aids in digesting food. The specially prepared capsule ensures the various digestive aids are released in the proper environment; i.e. HCL (hydrochloric acid) in the stomach and pancreatin in the duodenum.

Glutamic acid HCL and betaine HCL are two forms of hydrochloric acid that are properly buffered to aid in increasing stomach acidity for the first stages of protein digestion. Not only is HCL important for protein digestion,it is necessary to stimulate both hormones and digestive enzymes required in other digestive functions further down the digestive tract.

Calcium ascorbate is a salt form of Vitamin C that is also an excellent buffer for HCL in the stomach. Pancreatin NF is a combination of the pancreatin enzymes amylase, lipase and protease, which are prepared to delay release until reaching the duodenum. These digestive enzymes aid in hydrolyzing fats, digesting proteins and converting starch. Bromelain and papain are added for their well known functions of aiding digestion.
