Red-clover isoflavones are estrogen-like molecules that may mediate hormonal imbalances during menstruation and menopause.
New Roots Herbal’s Red Clover Isoflavones are standardized to contain a total of 24 mg of four standardized isoflavones—genistein, daidzein, formononetin, and biochanin—sourced from red clover (Trifolium pratense). These biologically active isolates are naturally occurring in red clover.
Isoflavones are phytoestrogens, which literally means “plant estrogens.” Isoflavones are similar in chemical structure to the body’s own estrogen and, when consumed, they can mimic some of the effects of estrogen to assist with regulating hormone production; this can be helpful with typical symptoms of PMS and menopause. Isoflavones, however, are weaker than our natural estrogen and are selective in their acts of estrogen to assist with managing both emotional and physical symptoms.
